Labor day weekend.

We decided to travel this labor day weekend and go visit Grant's dad, at Canyon Lake. I'm pretty sure everyone else in Texas also decided to travel this weekend. Traffic to Canyon Lake was horrible! We left at 4:30PM and didn't make it there until after 10:30PM. We did make a short stop in Hillsboro to feed and change the baby and eat dinner at Jack In The Box. Jaxon did pretty well traveling. He started to get cranky right around the time we hit Austin. I don't blame him, I wouldn't like being strapped in a car seat for 6 hours.

When we got to Canyon Lake we visited for a couple of hours before going to bed. We were really worried about Jaxon sleeping in his pack in play. He doesn't like it very much and has a hard time sleeping. We put down a soft blanket and he slept all night. Success!

Jaxon, Big Daddy, and me right after we arrived.

We woke up the next morning and went to Gruene. I love this little town! There are so many neat shops and good restaurants. We went to a restaurant called Mozie's for lunch. Grant and I both had some yummy fish tacos.

We hung out there and watched some football for about an hour. After that we walked to the General Store and bought some fudge. Jaxon was starting to get tired so we went back to the house to take naps.

We spent the rest of the afternoon watching the Rangers play and watching football. That evening Jimmy made us some delicious steak and baked potatoes. We put Jaxon to bed at normal time, 7:30PM, and he went right to sleep and slept all night again!

We woke up the next morning and left Canyon Lake around 10:00AM. We made a stop in San Marcos and ate at one of my favorite restaurants, The River Pub.

Our view of the river at lunch.

Grant and I drove around the Texas State campus and I showed him all of the dorms and class buildings. We stopped by the bookstore and Jaxon got his first Texas State shirt. Future Bobcat!

We left San Marcos and made it home around 4:00PM. Jaxon did so well on the drive home. He napped for the last hour of the trip and didn't get cranky at all. We can't wait to go back and visit again!
